New Jersey has passed a law that allows parents to give medical marijuana to sick or disabled children at school, the first law of its kind to be passed in the U.S. The change was inspired by 16-year-old Genny Barbour, who was diagnosed with severe autism and epilepsy. According to a recent ruling in the Ocean County Superior Court, victims of elder abuse can obtain restraining orders under the the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act. The U.S. Department of Justice found that one in 10 elders is victimized. In 96% of cases, the abuse comes from a relative or someone living with them.
